Mt. Kilimanjaro, “the pride of Tanzania”, is the highest mountain in Africa at 5'895 meters above sea level. It is the largest free-standing mountain in the world, and it has 3 peaks - Kibo (also known as Uhuru-Peak), Mawenzi and Shira.
The Machame
route is the most popular, and the second easiest after the Marangu route. It
is nicknamed “the Whisky route” referring to the level of difficulty while the
Marangu route is nicknamed the “Coca-Cola route”. This route will expose you to
the very diverse nature of Kilimanjaro while enjoying a smooth and gradual
acclimatization process.
